These are the students of Imayam High School. These are very poor students, who would be working in the fields with their parents if not for this school. Their parents earn less than 230 dollars a year. Ms. Saraswathi , a retired teacher who is an idealist, put her life savings and pension funds to start this high school. She is ably assisted by Ms. Ponrathi. It is a crediantialed school, but has no funds. We paid school fees for all the students, and we raised the entire amount with our Indian cooking classes.
