| Kauai is a small island (553 square miles) in the middle of the Pacific ocean, and is in the State of Hawaii in the United States of America. Geologically, it's the oldest major island in the Hawaiian chain, and it is about 5 million years old. Maui, Oahu, Big Island of Hawaii, Molokai, Lanai, and Ni'ihau form the other major islands of Hawaii. The weather is tropical, the interior of the island is mountainous, with deeply eroded valleys and plains around the coastal areas. The beaches are among the most beautiful ones on earth, with its deep blue and turquoise waters and golden sandy shores.
