About Kauai, our beautiful island
Kauai is a small island (553 square miles) in the middle of the Pacific ocean, and is in the State of
Hawaii in the United States of America. Geologically, it's the oldest major island in the Hawaiian
chain, and it is about 5 million years old. Maui, Oahu, Big Island of Hawaii, Molokai, Lanai, and
Ni'ihau form the other major islands of Hawaii.

The weather is tropical, the interior of the island is mountainous, with deeply eroded valleys and
plains around the coastal areas. The beaches are among the most beautiful ones on earth, with
its deep blue and turquoise waters and golden sandy shores. Rainbows, streams, wooded
forests, fern groves, pineapple fields, tropical flowers, taro fields, giant mango trees, murungai
trees laded with murungai kai, swaying coconut palms and banana trees are among the many
sights of the island.

Kauai has the world's wettest spot in Mount Wai'ale'ale (meaning 'rippling waters' in the Hawaiian
language), which is in the center of the island. An average of 440 inches of rain falls here. The
only navigable river in Hawaii is Wailua in Kauai. The core of Kauai many square miles of rain
forests and splendid peaks.

Hawaii looks very much like Kerala and Courtallam of Tamil Nadu. Ayurveda and Yoga are
practiced here to a great extent.

"In the hands of a generous person, wealth is like a medicinal tree whose healing
gifts help all"
